Rebuilding More Than Cars

Celebrating graduates is an annual rite of summer, and On the Road Garage has its own class to applaud. Our Department of Labor-registered apprenticeship program is run by master technicians and senior management leaders in the fields of body repair, painting, estimation, mechanics and technology, and office management. Each pathway is a blended learning experience, incorporating on-the-job, hands-on training with access to industry-leading classroom training and personal development.

I’m so proud of all our apprentices and want to share stories about two of them who have chosen to stay on with us as employees after graduation!

Linette is 28, and before coming to us, she worked as a service advisor at a car dealership. She will soon complete our apprenticeship in painting. Linette is super creative, and painted an incredible mural at our West Dallas garage that reminds us every day of her potential. I’ve watched her confidence grow and know she will be wonderful as a head painter herself passing along the skills she has learned.

“This experience has changed my life,” she says. “I would love to give someone else the same opportunity that I have been given.”

Ian is 24 and came to us from Service King where he was working as a body tech apprentice. Before that he worked at a custom design company building art gallery pieces and doing graphic design and installation. He’s dedicated to gaining skills to add to those he has already mastered.

“I came to On the Road Garage not only to continue learning but also to grow with a company that I felt had potential,” Ian says.

Ian spent time in our body tech apprenticeship before transitioning into the estimating apprenticeship, which he has now completed. I’m so happy that he’s staying at On the Road Garage, and I know he will continue to grow with the company.

Join me in congratulating Linette and Ian!
